Are you considering a Yukon in Miami?
There is no doubt the 2009 GMC Yukon is the leading choice for a traditional large SUV due to its handsome styling, comfortable cabin and strong towing and hauling capabilities. You can get yours now in Miami, just visit Brickell Motors for more information. The 2009 GMC Yukon sports a number of upgrades. An XFE package debuts with aerodynamic enhancements and lightweight aluminum components that improve fuel economy. A third-row three-passenger 50/50-split bench seat and new aluminum wheels are standard on all models. Bluetooth phone connectivity becomes available, as does a rearview camera system that doesn't require the optional navigation system. This year's navigation system now has real-time traffic capability. Below deck, a new six-speed automatic is paired with both the 5.3- and 6.2-liter V8 engines, the latter of which gains 23 horsepower for 2009. Lastly, a heavy-duty trailering package and separate integrated brake controller are now available.
Here is what thecarconnection.com says about the 2009 GMC Yukon: If you need a vehicle that’s good for towing, people-hauling, and even modest off-roading, you should put the 2009 GMC Yukon on your list. The 2009 GMC Yukon can tow four tons, besting the Toyota Sequoia and Nissan Armada in this important category. And although the Armada is arguably a bit more stylish from a distance, the Yukon has a better-executed interior, with pleasing materials. The Sequoia and Armada are both larger than the Yukon and Yukon Denali, but not quite as enormous as the long-wheelbase Yukon XL and Denali XL. The big GMC offers a wider choice of engines than the Ford Expedition, and the differences in performance are notable. However, the Ford performs well, and TheCarConnection.com's editors appreciate its comparatively better ride quality.
Along with its new features and capabilities the GMC Yukon is the top choice for any Miami driver looking for a powerful SUV. For more information on how you can purchase the 2009 GMC Yukon in Miami contact Brickell Motors at 786-245-4889 or visit them online at http://www.brickellgmc.com.

The 2010 Buick Lacrosse is a Hit in Miami
There is plenty of talk on Miami streets about the new 2010 Buick Lacrosse. The redesigned 2010 Buick Lacrosse takes a giant step forward with fresh styling, new features and an impressive chassis. It has finally become a competitive upscale midsize sedan. New features have also been added to the 2010 Buick LaCrosse, inside and outside, these include new styling, sharper handling, available all-wheel drive and a revised engine lineup that now includes a fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine
Not only is the new Buick LaCrosse edgier and sportier, it now comes with more safety features. The 2010 Buick LaCrosse features standard front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, OnStar communications, stability and traction control, and antilock disc brakes. Rear-seat side airbags are also available as an option.
One of the most striking features of the 2010 Buick LaCrosse is its elegant and contemporary interior, designed in GM's Chinese design studio. The front seats are enveloped by a graceful dashboard arc that stretches from door to door, and the tastefully integrated simulated wood accents contribute to the decidedly upscale feel. At night, passengers are bathed in a soothing blue glow from the ambient lighting with gauge lighting to match. The center stack controls look a bit busy, but operation of the audio, climate control and navigation systems is for the most part simple and intuitive.
Notable among the LaCrosse's many new features is the optional head-up display, which projects pertinent information onto the windshield, allowing drivers to keep their eyes on the road. Despite the more substantial body styling, however, trunk space drops to 13 cubic feet, significantly smaller than the trunks of competing sedans. The trunk is fairly deep, but the lack of height and width may be problematic for bulky items.
Fore more information on how you can get your hands on a 2010 Buick LaCrosse in Miami, contact Brickell Motors at 786-245-4889 or visit them online at http://www.brickellgmc.com.

New Talk on the GMC Acadia in Miami
GMC Acadia - What the Auto Press Says
The 2010 GMC Acadia ranks 4 out of 28 Affordable Midsize SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of 49 published reviews and test drives of the GMC Acadia, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
Built on the same platform as its General Motors siblings, the Buick Enclave and Saturn Outlook, the GMC Acadia is both affordable and luxurious. It offers class-leading seating capacity, good cargo space and smooth ride quality.
"Acadia is tailor-made for buyers who need a minivan but don't want to drive one," says Consumer Guide. "This crossover is dynamically capable, comes standard with a host of safety features, and offers several unusual and useful options. Though we consider it a midsize, those shopping large SUVs will find Acadia a more efficient alternative."
General Motors, GMC's parent company, has recently emerged from bankruptcy. Business should continue as usual, though the bankruptcy could add a layer of uncertainty for GM buyers. However, those who are able to stomach the uncertainty may be able to get a great deal on a new GMC. Check out What GM's Bankruptcy Means for You to answer any questions you have before buying.
For 2010, the Acadia is unchanged. It Acadia comes in three trims -- SLE-1, SLT-1 and SLT-2 -- which come with varying features. All-wheel drive is optional.
* "A week spent in each model showed the Acadia and Outlook to be competitive in virtually every respect with a pair of benchmarks, the Pilot and Toyota Highlander. And since the G.M. siblings performed as well -- and in some areas, better -- buyers who put a premium on passenger and cargo space may give them the edge." -- New York Times
* "My Bottom Line -- The Acadia is a very capable mid-size SUV with a great engine and plenty of room. Similarly equipped, it's about $10,000 less than the almost identical Cadillac SRX, but more than the almost-identical Saturn Outlook, which has less content." -- The Auto Channel
Acadia Performance - 8.1 (Very Good)
The 2010 GMC Acadia offers adequate performance, but it falls short when compared to its quicker, more fun-to-drive rivals such as the Nissan Murano. "Front-drive versions are impressively stable and agile for a vehicle this size," says Consumer Guide. "AWD models -- even with the optional 19-inch tires -- feel a bit less nimble but benefit from added traction on slick surfaces. Acadia is difficult to maneuver in tight spaces due to its long, wide body." continue
Acadia Exterior - 8.8 (Very Good)
The Acadia styling is somewhat unconventional - a fact that reviewers like. "The 5-door Acadia is one of the best-looking crossover SUVs to debut recently," writes MSN. "It's neither macho nor feminine. Rather, the Acadia is well-proportioned overall, with a non-fussy style and just the right size of grille and headlights at the front -- not overdone and yet not plain, in other words." continue
Acadia Interior - 8.7 (Very Good)
The Acadia's cabin stands out because it third-row seat can comfortably fit even tall adults - a rarity in its class. Additionally, its interior is surprisingly luxurious for its class and price range. "Inside, everyone rests on well-cushioned seats, and the interior of the test Acadia was as quiet as a car," says MSN. "There wasn't even much wind noise at highway speeds." continue
Acadia Safety - 9.9 (Excellent)
The 2010 GMC Acadia does extremely well in federal government crash tests. The 2009 model was also an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety "Top Safety Pick." The Acadia comes with a comprehensive set of six standard air bags and innovative safety options. continue
Acadia Reliability - NA
The 2010 GMC Acadia comes with GM's three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty.
* "The biggest feeling I came away with from this truck was that it's substantial. No rattles, nothing felt loose -- in fact, everything felt pretty tight." -- AutoWeek
* "Maintenance: Not much. The engine uses timing chains instead of belts. ... Many Japanese models use belts, which are quieter but eventually need replacing." -- USA Today
* "Build quality has been good, but one test model suffered from a rattle in the rear seating area." -- Consumer Guide

The New 2010 GMC Sierra Comes with more Fuel Efficiency
GM Tweaks 2010 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra for Improved Fuel Economy
August 4, 2009
By Scott Evans
In its continuing effort to green up its products, GM has turned to its full-size pickups: the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado and its twin, the 2010 GMC Sierra. GM's efforts have wrung an extra mile per gallon out of each truck both in the city and on the highway, putting them at the top of their class in fuel economy.
Last year, when the 2009 model-year Silverado and Sierra debuted, they were achieving a measly 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. Even the XFE (eXtra Fuel Economy) models were only pulling off 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. To improve these figures, GM set its engineers to work under the hood to free up a little more fuel efficiency. To be completely accurate, though, the only traditional wrenching done was actually performed under the bed, where GM's engineers swapped out the old differential for a new, lower 3.08:1 gear set.
The rest of the work was done with a computer, adjusting the shift-points on the six-speed transmission, playing with the valve timing, and tweaking the Active Fuel Management system to keep the engine running on four cylinders instead of eight more of the time. All these little tweaks to the computer programming, along with the new gears out back, helped the Silverado/Sierra pick up 1 extra mpg in both city and highway driving, for an EPA-estimated 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway on the 2010 models. Even the XFE models got a boost in highway fuel economy, up to 22 mpg for 2010. And of course, if you need more, there's always the Silverado/Sierra Hybrid, which will net you an impressive 21 mpg city and 22 mpg highway.
Those who actually use their trucks to haul things will be happy to know that all of GM's tinkering hasn't affected the truck's capabilities. Horsepower, torque, payload, and trailering abilities remain unchanged on the 2010 models. All the power and better fuel economy? Sounds like a win-win to us.
For reference, the 2010 Ford F-150 achieves an EPA-estimated 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway when equipped with the 5.4L V-8 and 15 mpg city, and 21 mpg highway when equipped with the 4.6L V-8 and the six-speed automatic transmission. The 2010 Dodge Ram, meanwhile, gets a Ford-rivaling 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. Foreign competition is even farther behind, with the 2010 Toyota Tundra getting 14 mpg city and 18 mpg highway with its 5.7L V-8, and 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway with the 4.6L V-8. Bringing up the rear is the 2009 Nissan Titan (2010 specs haven't been announced yet), whose 5.6L V-8 is only good for 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway, though running it on E85 Ethanol will get you 1 extra mpg on the highway.

The GMC Sierra is Equipped wih New Features for Miami Drivers
From CarAndDriver.com:
Improved Fuel Economy for Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Pickups with 5.3-liter V-8
August 4, 2009 at 10:43 am by Jake Holmes
2010 Chevrolet Silverado XFE
For 2010, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are more fuel efficient thanks to some subtle changes from GM engineers. Regular trucks with the 5.3-liter V-8 climb from 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway to 15/21; the fuel-sipping XFE models earn 1 extra highway mpg, for a rating of 15/22. Figures for hybrid variants of the Silverado and Sierra are unchanged.
The changes needed for these improvements reportedly don’t affect the payload, horsepower, or tow ratings of the trucks. New shift points for the trucks’ six-speed automatic and a lower 3.08 final drive ratio, as well as variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management (which sometimes runs the V-8 on only four cylinders to save fuel) help achieve the higher numbers.
If 1 mpg doesn’t seem like a big difference, consider this: improving from 14 mpg to 15 saves about the same amount of fuel as a car that gets 40 mpg instead of 33.

More Horsepower for the New Buick Enclave
From Examiner.com
The Buick Enclave for 2009 gets more horsepower and offers a lot of room and features.
The Buick Enclave is a premium midsize crossover that shares its platform with the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Arcadia and the Saturn Outlook. For 2009 the Enclave gets 13 more horsepower and some new features.
There are two trim levels available CX and CXL, but only one engine/transmission combination. Enclaves are either front-drive or all-wheel drive. And there is no transfer case. The Enclave gets the 3.6-liter V-6 engine which is now rated at 288 horsepower and a six-speed automatic transmission.
The combination is rated at 16 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon the highway with all-wheel drive. The Buick SUV is tow-rated at 4500 pounds.
An available navigation system with real-time traffic updates is available for 2009 along with a wireless cell phone link, heated and cooled seats and a 110-volt inverter that is standard with all the entertainment packages.
There is even a rearview camera available and it does not require the owner to purchase the optional navigation system. The ride quality is good and the vehicle feels smooth and stable. The enclave is large and offers plenty of people and cargo room.
Prices range from $35,000 up to nearly $40,000. On our scale of one to five, four tires and a spare, the 2009 Buick Enclave SUV rates a four plus. It is expensive, but it offers a lot.
For more information on how you can purchase the Buick Enclave in the Miami area, contact Brickell Motors at 786-245-4889 or visit them online at http://www.brickellgmc.com.

2010 Buick Enclave And 2010 GMC Acadia: Envoys For The New GM
By Bengt Halvorson Bengt HalvorsonBengt Halvorson August 14th, 2009
This year, even if you ignore the demise of Pontiac and the uncertain future of Saturn, and Hummer, there's already going to be a very noticeable difference at Chevrolet and GMC dealerships: the 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer and 2009 GMC Envoy are gone, and they're not coming back for 2010. That's right; those once top-selling mid-size SUVs have seen a big decline in interest along with a slow and quiet death over the past couple of years. GM discontinued the three-row Trailblazer EXT and Envoy XL models after 2006 and all but confirmed the demise of their shorter counterparts models around that time—though they soldiered on for nearly three years. And then the Trailblazer and Envoy continued for a year or two while their replacements—the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia—had already gone on sale. Quite honestly, we won't miss those discontinued trucks much at all.
They were outclassed in nearly every respect, and were among the lowest-rated SUVs by TheCarConnection.com for 2009, with an overall score of just 6.4. Although GM had done a decent job keeping them updated with features, they were woefully behind the curve in safety and relatively noisy and unrefined inside, and they looked stuck in the '90s. Fortunately, the Traverse and Acadia, along with the Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave that are closely related, have been excellent replacements. While they haven't sold quite as well as we would have expected, they're attractively designed, roomy, safe, and very comfortable. And surprisingly, they basically match the Envoy's towing ability.
TheCarConnection.com just posted updated Full Reviews, along with Bottom Line assessments—for the 2010 Buick Enclave and 2010 GMC Acadia, which return with no major changes. And that's just fine; according to the editors here at TheCarConnection.com, along with other reviewers and our colleagues in the automotive media. In repeated drives, these vehicles continue to impress with their low-key but luxurious styling, high-quality feel, smooth ride, and refined character. Some might wish for a little stronger acceleration, and TheCarConnection.com has noticed hesitant behavior from the six-speed automatic transmission and noted somewhat disappointing fuel economy, but the 288-horsepower, 3.6-liter direct-injection V-6 will do just fine for most families, whether with the front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.
Overall, we say that the curvy 2010 Buick Enclave takes on the 2010 Lexus RX 350, yet provides a luxurious, uniquely American interior while the slightly more traditional-looking 2010 GMC Acadia is equally attractive in its own right and strikes a much better balance overall when compared to full-size SUVs. In both cases, these vehicles have spacious seven-passenger seating. Most noteworthy on these models for 2010 are new wheel designs—including newly optional 20-inch chrome wheels on the Acadia, and on both models a new USB port that interfaces with personal media players and charges them. Prices have stayed virtually the same at the entry level for both the 2010 GMC Acadia and 2010 Buick Enclave, while their top-of-the-line SLT2 and CXL models have risen steeply but gained more standard equipment.

Buick Adds New Engine to the 2010 Lacrosse: Available Soon in Miami
by Michael Gauthier
June 23, 2009 3:00 PM
Buick has announced they will be adding the 2.4-liter four-cylinder Ecotec engine to the upcoming 2010 LaCrosse. Engineered to provide a balanced mix of fuel efficiency and performance, the direct-injected 2.4-liter Ecotec boasts 182 horsepower (136 kW) and 172 lb-ft (233 Nm) of torque. More importantly, the engine is expected to return 20 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. For comparison, the LaCrosse's 255 hp 3.0-liter V6 and 280 hp 3.6-liter V6 average an estimated 17 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.
According to GM's vice chairman of Global Product Development, Tom Stephens, "Direct injection is a key component of GM's ongoing strategy to use advanced propulsion technology to help us deliver more fuel-efficient cars today and in the future." Look for the 2.4-liter Buick LaCrosse to be offered "later this year" with a base price slightly below the 3.0-liter LaCrosse's MSRP of $27,085.

GM Full-Size Pickup Recieves Best in Class Fuel Economy
GM Full-Size Pickup Receive Best in Class Fuel Economy
Fuel efficiency is something Miami drivers are becoming more conscious of when purchasing their new vehicle. Sky rocketing gas prices hasn’t made it easy for us either. Good thing GM has just been recognized for best in class fuel economy on their 2010 GM Full-size pickups. Their power terrain enhancements have allowed the GMC Sierra to receive such a prestigious award.
The Sierra 5.3L V-8 engine EPA-estimated fuel economy improves for 2010 from 14 city / 20 highway to 15 city / 21 highway MPG, while Extra Fuel Economy (XFE) models move from 15 city / 21 highway to 15 city / 22 highway MPG. This development, combined with the fact that GM's hybrid pickups achieve an EPA estimated 21 city / 22 highway, puts the 2010 GMC Sierra at the top in fuel economy.
Some other changes made to the GMC Sierra that can be attributed for its fuel efficient success is the development of a new fuel saver mode which enables the truck to make better use of GM's Active Fuel Management system, running on four-cylinders in light throttle conditions instead of eight. More efficient six-speed transmission shift points, engine variable valve timing and a lower gear ratio of 3.08 (now standard on GM full-size pickups) each play an important role in the improved fuel economy.
These new improvements come with no compromise to prior GMC capabilities. Horsepower, payload, and trailering specifications remain the same for the GMC Sierra. The following is the most recent available EPA-estimated comparable fuel economy data for GM's main competitors in this segment:
Ford - 5.4L: 14 city / 20 hwy; 4.6L with 6-speed transmission: 15 city / 21 hwy
Dodge - 5.7L: 14 city / 20 hwy
Toyota - 5.7L: 14 city / 18 hwy; 4.6L: 15 city / 20 hwy
Nissan - 5.6L: 13 city / 17 hwy; 5.6L (E85): 13 city / 18 hwy

The Sierra Hybrid is made for Miami drivers
Taken from leftlanenews.com
Review: 2009 GMC Sierra 4×4 Hybrid
07/08/2009, 6:59 PM
By Andrew Ganz
There are plenty of vehicles on the market capable of comfortably hauling five humans and a load of cargo all while towing a Prius, but until General Motors launched its second-generation hybrid pickups, like the GMC Sierra Hybrid, no offering could boast midsize sedan in-town fuel economy with the Prius and trailer unhitched.
Now one can. Well, make that two, since the Sierra and similar Chevrolet Silverado are a classic case of badge engineering gone right – that is, profitable badge engineering.
What is it?
This isn’t actually GM’s first foray into the hybrid pickup market. The previous-generation full-size trucks offered a mild-hybrid option from 2005 to 2007, though if you’ve never seen one, you’re not alone. Unlike that first effort, the latest Sierra – and its Silverado twin – is a full-on hybrid effort, capable of accelerating to more than 20 mph on batteries alone.
Visually almost identical to the mid-level Sierra SLE crew cab, the Hybrid eschews the aero-enhancing trim seen on the similar Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Sierra Hybrids, though it does have some comparatively modest badging. GMC offers the Hybrid in two trim levels with a choice of two or four-wheel-drive, but only one body configuration is offered, a crew cab with a short box. Our four-wheel-drive tester, with its leather seats and navigation, is the most uplevel and priciest offering.
The Silverado is identical other than a revised fascia and different badging.
Rated at 20 mpg both in the city and on the highway, our four-wheel-drive tester’s in-town rating actually bests the Toyota Camry V6 and ties even the most frugal Subaru offered in North America. Oh, and don’t forget the awesome boast that the Sierra Hybrid is actually more efficient to drive around town than last year’s Mini Cooper S convertible with the automatic transmission. And the Sierra does it all using regular grade fuel.
What’s it up against?
Nobody else offers a hybrid pickup in North America, so comparison-shopping fuel misers interested in an open bed and four wheel drive will want to stay at the GMC (or Chevrolet) dealership to find the best-in-class 14/20 city/highway mpg 5.3-liter Sierra (or Silverado). Their new six-speed automatic transmissions mean that they top any other four-wheel-drive offering.
Mosey on down to the Ford dealer and you’ll find an F-150 with the 5.4-liter V8 that averages 14/19, which is still better than the 14/18 from a Hemi-powered Dodge Ram 4×4.
How about Toyota and Nissan? Try 13/17 or 12/17 for a V8 4×4 Tundra or Titan, respectively.
That said, Dodge is preparing a hybrid Ram, though no preliminary figures have been released. If the short-lived Durango Hybrid is anything to go by, expect fuel economy similar to the GM twins.
Any breakthroughs?
The two-mode hybrid system has essentially been pulled from the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon, which means you’ll find a 6.0-liter V8 with cylinder shutoff and variable valve timing mated to an electric motor powered by a 300 volt battery mounted beneath the rear seats. A continuously variable transmission helps make the most of the 332 horsepower and 367 lb-ft. of torque, a little more than the 5.3-liter V8 offered on traditional Sierras.
How does it look?
Our subjective opinion rates the Sierra just ahead of the Silverado due to its marginally more buff front fascia. Otherwise, GM took a very conservative approach when it redesigned its full-size offerings for the 2007 model year – and we think it will pay off in the long run. While the Dodge Ram is racier and the Ford F-150 flashier, the Sierra strikes us as a design that will wear better over time.
Our tester’s standard 18-inch chrome alloy wheels fill the large wheel wells nicely and, in our opinion, look more appropriate than the oversized 20-inch blingers we saw on the more hauling-oriented 6.2-liter Silverado LTZ we tested earlier this year.
Aside from the badging, the Hybrid model adds a tonneau cover to the standard SLE, though we were a little surprised to see that the bed-mounted electrical outlets from the previous GM hybrid pickup efforts did not make an appearance on round two.
We still take issue with the chrome wheels and we think that the plastic lip below the front fascia is prone to rubbing when the pavement ends, but overall the Sierra is a solid home-run in the looks department.
And on the inside?
GM took the unique initiative of designing two wholly separate interiors for the then-new 2007 Sierra and Silverado a few years ago. Uplevel Sierra SLT and Denali models gain the wood-toned, Cadillac-esque look shared with the Yukon, while lesser variants, including the Hybrid, get a plainer setup designed to work better with a bench seat.
At nearly $50,000 as tested, we can’t help but think that GM should offer the luxury dashboard on the uplevel 3HB trim package we tested. While functional and generally built of solid, if not premium, materials inside, the look is a little plain in light of more expressive offerings from Dodge and Ford – especially in our tester’s dull “Titanium” shade.
Gauges and basic switchgear are identical to the high-buck models, as are the seats, but a plain center console meets the main dashboard at a knee bolster covered in rock-hard plastic with this design. In addition, the lower doors are molded in a cheap plastic more fitting on a work truck.
The only interior changes for the Hybrid are a battery pack under the rear seat – negating the fold-up storage ability – and an energy flow system monitor built into the navigation display.
GM says that these trucks are aimed at commercial users – but with the full complement of luxo-bits on our tester, we have to wonder what sort of commercial fleet buyer is going to pony up $50,000. To GM, we suggest decontenting the base model and tarting up the high-end one to go after both fleet and personal users.
But does it go?
For the most part, the Sierra Hybrid feels just like the full-size SUVs in terms of its powertrain operation. Though its beefier frame and extended length make it tip the scales at about 5,900 lbs. – around 500 more than the Yukon – the Sierra Hybrid does not seem to give up much performance thanks to a few extra ponies and responsive low-end torque.
In normal driving, acceleration is mostly linear once you get used to the consistent engine speeds under acceleration courtesy of its transmission. Under heavy acceleration, such as freeway merging, the CVT gets a little confused at the upper end of the rev range, occasionally resulting in a momentary lull. It’s a little disconcerting at first, but we got used to quirks endemic to this kind of transmission pretty quickly.
With very light throttle applications – too light to keep cars behind from honking at you – you can accelerate to about 22 mph in EV mode. We’d like to see GM improve this for the next generation hybrid truck to allow for more electric motor use.
The V8 has been treated to GM’s active fuel management, which unobtrusively cuts off power to half of the cylinders for highway cruising. Combined with the hybrid powertrain, we didn’t have much trouble reaching 20 mpg in gentle suburban driving or during highway cruising. Over 20 minutes of traffic snarl cruising, the trip computer showed 27 mpg since the gas engine rarely needed to kick in. More urban stop-and-go driving gave us closer to 17 mpg on average. It’s worth noting that all of this testing was conducted during a summer heat wave where temperatures tickled triple digits during the day.
Generally, the Sierra rode and handled about like its conventional siblings. Only the faintest whine under acceleration and deceleration gave away the different engine and the start-stop function only seemed to give the slightest shudder when the automatic air conditioning was on recirculation mode.
We did find the brakes to be a little too grabby at low speeds due to the energy regeneration system when compared to the non-Hybrid Silverado we drove earlier this year. Although still effective, they were a little difficult to modulate at parking lot speeds, resulting in some squeals of protest from passengers.
We briefly sampled the Sierra Hybrid’s off-road ability by traversing a light trail that featured a handful of off-camber situations. Turn a knob to shift the transfer case into four-wheel low and you can crawl along at a snail’s pace without using any gasoline. With street-oriented tires (identical to those on a standard Sierra SLE), long front overhang and a decidedly road-oriented suspension, our Sierra test vehicle was best left to bouncing across fields or dirt roads, not serious rock crawling.
Why you would buy it:
You want something that can tow a 6,100 lb. decent trailer yet consistently return 20 mpg unladen.
Why you wouldn’t:
You spend most of your time on the highway, where current hybrid technology can’t overcome a pickup’s aerodynamics.
Leftlane’s bottom line
Though on paper the Sierra Hybrid runs about $4,000 more than a similarly equipped SLE, the United States government is currently offering $2,200 in energy tax credits, which substantially offsets the premium. $1,800 might seem like a lot for a 6 mpg improvement in town, but with ever-volatile gas prices, it might not take that long for the Hybrid to pay out.
We saw decent and consistent figures during our week-long evaluation and, it seems to us, that another generation or two of this powertrain and GM might be able to reach the stringent new fuel economy standards recently set forth by the Obama administration – a commendable feat for a rather un-aerodynamic hauler.
2009 GMC Sierra 4×4 Hybrid 3HB base price, $47,675. As tested, $49,645.

Most Fuel Efficient Vehicles in Miami are Honda's
Honda has just introduced a new PC-based driving simulator, which comes complete with steering wheel and pedals. It will be available in Japan for about $2200-$3100 US, but it is not completely clear whether or not it will be released in the US.
This simulator is special for a number of reasons, aside from the fact that it is PC-based and it is reasonably priced (for driving schools anyway). This simulator is made to teach people fuel-efficient driving techniques, as well as to reinforce the safe driving techniques that are often forgotten over time, and can be customized for beginners or advanced drivers. "Users learn simply by following the on-screen and audio instructions, making an instructor unnecessary”, said Honda in a press release.
This simulator is just a reaffirmation of Honda’s commitment to providing a more safe and fuel-efficient future for everyone. Honda’s vehicles are consistently rated at the top of safety and fuel-efficiency standards, and are the longest-lasting and most reliable cars on the road today. Practicality Meets SUV in Miami: The 2009 Yukon Hybrid
The 2009 GMC Yukon proves to be an amazing piece of machinery with its 21-mpg fuel economy and its ability to maintain a standard SUV’s towing capacity. Especially with the high price of gas in Miami these days, a fuel-efficient car is the option many Miami drivers are going with.
The 2009 GMC Yukon Hybrid is a full-size SUV that is available in one trim level. Some standard equipment that comes with the Hybrid are 18-inch alloy wheels, rear park assist with rearview camera, tinted windows, power-folding heated side mirrors and tri-zone automatic climate control. Some of the new features added to the 2009 model are Bluetooth connectivity and real time traffic for the XM satellite radio.
The new Hybrid continues to impress its Miami drivers with its performance and power terrain. Available with rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, the Yukon Hybrid maintains its toughness. Both models utilize a 6.0 liter V8 engine located inside what GM calls an electrically variable transmission. Together, they produce 332 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque. The system can accelerate the Yukon up to speeds of approximately 25 mph using electricity only. Regenerative breaking replenishes the batteries by capturing energy normally lost coming to a stop.
There is no doubt about the seriousness of the Yukon Hybrid. Not only is it tough enough to get your through Miami streets, it also is fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. Talk about killing to birds with one stone.

The GMC Sierra Hybrid is Choosen by Green Truck Types in MIami
Reviewed 2009 GMC Sierra Hybrid: the perfect pick-up for the green truck types
July 7, 3:41 PM
The marketing types of this world would have you believe that there are car people and truck people. They also like to divide car buyers into the "green" hybrid types and the more traditional fossil fuel burning "muscle car" drivers.
While these simplistic stereotypes may hold true on some level, the fact remains that people buy cars and trucks that best meet their needs.
In other words, most people purchase pick-up trucks because they have a job or a need for the utility that only the pick-up affords, and others purchase hybrids simply because of the gas and money savings over the more traditional gas only models.
The GMC Sierra Hybrid is the best of both of these words. It has the utility that only a 7,300 pound crew cab pick-up can provide, while at the same time returning a stunning 20 mpg in both city and highway driving.
In other words...you can have your cake and eat it too...sort of.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the cutting edge GMC Sierra Hybrid. It does everything that you'd want a full-sized pick-up to do and it does it well.
It will tow 6100 pounds all day long.
The 6.0L V-8 engine has a cool party trick in that it runs on either 4 or 8 cylinders to conserve fuel.
It comes in both a 2WD and 4WD version for folks in colder and slicker climates or in need of that extra 4WD security.
The crew cab version will seat six in relative comfort with enough headroom for either a cowboy hat or work helmet, or perhaps some old school beehive style hairdo.
You can have your tailgate pizza party and before or after load up the Sierra with your work gear, or your friends furniture when they need help moving, and you've got the biggest and baddest truck of the old gang.
The Sierra (especially in 4WD trim) will easily load two dirt bikes and take you and your buddies into the rugged back country for some gnarrly dirk bike riding, or it will accommodate two very wet and very happy Golder Retrievers who really like the way back seating better than the inside space.
OK, so the Sierra Hybrid does sound a bit like a 7000 pound refrigerator when the air-conditioning is on, and the pick-up is driving around your local Home Depot parking lot using only the battery to propel the GMC.
And speaking of the battery, GM's clever two-mode hybrid system is almost transparent except for a pretty high-tech electric engine.
But as with anything in life there are a few small penalties that must be paid for all of this new technology. The most obvious is the sticker price. At $42,790 my tester wasn't cheap, and for that kind of money you can get a lot of features stuffed into a similar sized Ford F-150 including leather, sat navigation, premium stereo, heated and cooled seats, and much much more.
Sure, the Ford won't get close to the GMC's gas mileage, but it will get you to Home Depot and back in more comfort, and perhaps a bit more style.
While the Sierra is handsome in a rugged "Marlboro Man" sort of way the design is starting to look a bit too conservative, and perhaps (dare I say) old fashioned in a my dad's truck sort of way.
The Sierra is also very much a pick-up in the old and perhaps best tradition of the breed. You sit way on top of the beast, and sort of feel the road float below you as you point the big GMC in the general direction that you hope to go.
With the bed empty, the back end tends to jump around a bit, especially under hard braking. There is nothing particularity wrong with this sort of classic pick-up handling and ride, but today the bar is set higher (read more car-like road handling) by many of the Sierra's competitors.
What really strikes me after spending a week with the Sierra Hybrid is that GM has a huge opportunity today to own a substantial and I believe profitable market niche. All GM has to to is take a page out of Toyota's Prius playbook, and build a unique hybrid pick-up using a unique name.In other words, don't just base it on any existing model like the extremely poorly selling Malibu hybrid.
Perhaps shrink down the Sierra Hybrid by about a third, and make it much more aerodynamic, even less thirsty and more hip and modern...and much more visually unique.
Think GM pick-up-Prius.
I bet GM would have a substantial new market of truck type buyers who are "green" but in the "show me the cash savings" definition of the word.

The Pontiac Solstice is a Popular Car in Miami
There are few cars in the $20,000-$30,000 range that can turn heads quite like the Pontiac Solstice. This sexy styling, along with the Solstice’s able power train and sporty driving dynamics, has made it a sales success. For 2009, Pontiac has added even more varieties of Solstice to the menu. One addition to the 2009 Pontiac Solstice lineup is the Street Edition, which combines the base Solstice's 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with the GXP's performance-oriented suspension.
The 2009 Pontiac Solstice is available as either a soft-top roadster or a coupe (late availability) with a removable roof panel. Both body styles are available in base or GXP trim levels. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 177 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque powers the base Solstice, while the turbocharged 2.0-liter four in the GXP models kicks the power output up to 260 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Introducing the 2010 GMC Acadia to Miami
Some changes have been made to the new 2010 GMC Acadia SUV and we are sure Miami drivers will appreciate. Although the Acadia is the lowest priced SUV offered by GMC, quality remains an important asset when building these cars. The new 2010 Acadia offers quality cashmere leather upholstery on upscale models, slightly revised trim levels, standard 20-inch wheels on the top of the line model and USB jack for the optional Bose stereo.
The 2010 GMC Acadia is a large crossover SUV offered in four trims: base SL, SLE, SLT-1 and SLT-2. The top-shelf SLT-2 tacks on 20-inch chrome wheels, power-folding heated mirrors with driver-side auto-dimming, perforated leather upholstery, additional power adjustments for the front seats (eight-way driver, four-way passenger), driver memory functions and a Towing Preparation package. The Acadia's towing capacity is a useful 4,500 pounds when properly equipped.

The Sierra Hybrid: Most Powerful Hybrid on Miami Streets
Most guys do not believe that it is possible to make a hybrid that is powerful, with decent towing capacity, and enough “manliness” inside and out to justify buying it for work (i.e. construction, contracting, etc.) or pleasure (i.e. towing the boat or the jet-skis to the beach) use. Well now, guys of Miami, is the time to believe. The review below will help you understand
From Ron Amadon of MarketWatch.com:
GREEN SPRING, W.V. (MarketWatch) -- Out here in the rolling hills of the Potomac Valley, pickup trucks may outnumber the dogs. So it is a great place to test the latest truck from GMC.
Before you panic, you should know that GMC is one of the brands that GM will keep when it emerges from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Up and over, down and around the various hamlets that make up this very hilly area, the big truck was a delight to pilot. The switch from electric to gasoline mode was generally seamless. On an all-day drive, the GMC was perfectly comfortable and with four-wheel drive it made quick work out of steep, muddy roads and rocky hills during a couple of off-road excursions.
None of the roads showed up on the navigation system. It simply showed I was out in the middle of nowhere, and it was not lying.
Your humble road tester is still amazed at how a vehicle can easily handle some fairly difficult off-road chores, and then go back into two-wheel drive and head home on the interstate with all the comfort of a fine car.
One interesting moment was simply finding Green Spring. You wend your way through the unincorporated hamlet of Oldtown, Md., until you come to a toll bridge.
The wooden, one-lane, low-water bridge was just about wide enough for the Sierra. While I can't remember what the (cheap) toll was, the collector advised, "We haven't raised it in years," as she stuck her long handled wire cup out the window to collect my money.
Following several days of heavy rain, the river level was just below the bridge. Fortunately, the sun was out and the Sierra and I made it across the branch of the Potomac River to West Virginia. Fun stuff, all in all!
Gas and go
This being a hybrid you are probably wondering about gas mileage. Through the city streets of Washington to backed-up traffic on the beltway, to West Virginia's crazy switchback roads, I racked up an overall 18 miles per gallon. The truck is EPA rated at 20 mpg both in the city and on the highway. I thought for a truck packing a 6.0-liter V8 that wasn't bad, given that I never babied it in an effort to beat Uncle Sam's estimates.
While it takes unleaded regular, the convenience store operator in nearby Paw Paw could not be happier with my $50 fill up. Ouch!
For the technically inclined, the test truck packed 332 horsepower and 367 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 rpm. The truck came with GM's active fuel management that shuts down four of the eight cylinders out on the highway when the power is not needed. I defy you to detect when that occurs.
GMC says the truck will tow up to 5,900 pounds.
As for the hybrid system, which is available in two-wheel- and four-wheel-drive models, there is a 300-volt nickel metal hydride battery pack under the rear bench seat. This works in cahoots with a 2-mode, variable speed transmission, and two 60-kilowatt electric motors. Feathering the throttle, the electric mode can propel on its own to about 30 miles per hour. Tailwinds are optional.
The bottom line is improved gas mileage and a truck that passengers will never know is a hybrid, unless you bring up the proper screen on the navi system.
The verdict:
In summary, men, and women of the jury:
I loved the comfort and ease at which the Sierra went about its chores. The sunroof was a great addition on a warm day, and there was ample room in the back of the crew cab for three passengers. The warranty is outstanding at eight years or 100,000 miles for the energy-storage system, and five years or 100,000 miles for the powertrain.
Negatives included rather lackluster pickup, probably due to the transmission, and other steps taken to improve gas mileage -- Zero to 60 in about 9 seconds. GM could improve the quality of materials used inside, with too much hard plastic for the price.
In addition, there was the matter of price. My Florida adviser on all things truck lights up like Dick Cheney at an ACLU meeting when he sees $49,645 as the bottom line. You would have to save a ton on gas and keep the truck as long as the folks do here in Green Spring to make all that work financially.
Yet, I thoroughly enjoyed my week with the fine looking GMC, but if it were my signature on the check, I would opt for a less expensive model. Then donate some of the difference for new planks in the bridge.
See? It is possible to combine form, function, consciousness, and masculinity! For more information on this truck, and to get a personalized quick quote on this machine, go to www.brickellgmc.com

The Bottom Line on the 2009 Buick Enclave,
Miami’s Most Trendy Crossover SUV
March 16, 2009
From theCar connection.com
By Rex Roy Rex Roy,
Editor Rex Roy
TheCarConnection.com's editors drove the new Buick Enclave in order to give you an expert opinion. TheCarConnection.com also researched available road tests on the new Buick Enclave to produce this conclusive review and to help you make sense of where and why reviewers might differ.
Likes:
* Easier to live with than a full-size SUV
* Graceful styling
* Comfortable, opulent interior
* Standard features galore
* Heated windshield included among other options
Dislikes:
* Excessive weight means it’s not nimble
* Transmission hunts on highway grades
* Unimpressive fuel economy
Buying tips:
After reading others' reviews and having driven the 2009 Buick Enclave, TheCarConnection.com’s editors highly recommend purchasing the rearview camera option.
Introduced last year, the Buick Enclave returns for 2009 in CX and CXL models with more convenience features and a new 3.6-liter V-6 direct injection engine as the standard power plant. The full-size luxury crossover has seating for eight and lots of cargo room while delivering 16 mpg city, 22 highway for all-wheel-drive models, according to EPA estimates. The Enclave’s interior is a combination of subdued, luxurious, and high-quality styling and materials. The elegant exterior design was well received by consumers last year because Buick retained the styling elements that made the Enclave a hit as a concept model a couple years prior. The Enclave’s retail price is surprisingly affordable for this type of vehicle, and the crossover offers a host of standard equipment and an extensive warranty.
The new 3.6-liter direct injection V-6 engine in the 2009 Buick Enclave produces 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque burning regular unleaded gasoline. The V-6 is mated to the Hydra-Matic 6T75 electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission that features automatic grade braking, shift stabilization, and precise shift control. The wide-ratio (6.04:1) transmission is designed to deliver both performance and fuel economy, as well as tow up 4,500 pounds. Acceleration is good, but on the highway, the transmission sometimes hunts for the right gear and, in the process, jostles its occupants.
Compared to the other full-size crossovers from GM, the Enclave's ride is hushed and smooth, resulting in an exceptionally quiet interior. In addition, what makes the 2009 Buick Enclave particularly comfortable is the plus-size accommodations. It's huge inside, with a standard third row and room for 7 to 8 people (depending on the configuration). The third row's a real third row, too, not there only for advertising purposes. There's almost 19 cubic feet of storage space behind the third row; plus, maximum towing capacity is 4,500 pounds. Relative to full-size truck-based SUVs, the 2009 Buick Enclave should provide better safety for passengers, with standard front-seat side airbags, full-length side-curtain airbags, and electronic stability control. The Enclave is among the best-rated vehicles in crash tests, with top standings in all U.S. front- and side tests.
The 2009 Buick Enclave comes very well equipped, with top CXL trims offering (standard or optional) a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound stereo to three-zone climate control, a power rear liftgate, a head-up display (HUD), GPS, a two-panel sunroof, and a backseat DVD entertainment system. New convenience features on the 2009 Enclave model include heated and cooled driver and front-passenger seats, a Bluetooth hands-free phone interface, XM NavTraffic, OnStar Destination Download, and two new exterior colors: Quicksilver Metallic and Silver Green Metallic. A 19-inch wheel/tire package is available for the 2009 Buick Enclave and looks sharp, but be sure you test drive a model so equipped before you buy, as the ride quality suffers a bit.
Reason Why:
The 2009 Buick Enclave goes head-to-head with smaller and sportier competitor models yet holds its own, and the Enclave provides an American slant on how popular crossover SUVs should look and behave. Only the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 offer three rows of seats, but their last rows are better suited for children. The Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, and Infiniti RX all offer optional V-8 engines in their crossovers, giving their takes on luxury a bigger punch of power. The Lexus RX 350 provides a conservative interior ambiance that’s closest to that of the Enclave, if that’s what you like. And if room is important, go with the Buick.
The Bottom Line:
The 2009 Buick Enclave takes American-made luxury crossovers into the realm where Lexus resides.

The Buick Enclave is more than just Miami's Favored Crossover
2009 Buick Enclave Review
from Edmunds.com
The Buick Enclave is a recent entry in the luxury crossover SUV segment that has earned Buick some accolades, ending the brand's string of so-so products. It shares a platform with GM's latest group of large crossovers and features a fully independent suspension, a powerful 3.6-liter V6 paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and optional all-wheel drive. The Enclave's interior can accommodate adults in all three rows and offers up to 116 cubic feet of cargo room -- more than that of many traditional full-size sport-utilities.
Current Buick Enclave
A full-size crossover SUV, the Buick Enclave sports a number of family-friendly features, such as a roomy cabin with easily accessed and adult-friendly third-row seats. There are two trim levels: base CX and uplevel CXL, both with standard seven-passenger seating. An available second-row bench seat increases capacity to eight. The 3.6-liter V6 is rated at 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.
The well-equipped CX comes with luxuries such as xenon headlights, a power liftgate, triple-zone automatic climate control, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity and OnStar. The upmarket CXL adds bigger wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power passenger seat and memory positioning for the driver. Options include a navigation system with a back-up camera, real-time traffic, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, remote start, rear park assist, adaptive headlights, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel and a dual-panel sunroof.
Inside, the Buick Enclave feels genuinely first-class, with a design reportedly inspired by private jet cabins, with a gently curving dash, rich-looking wood-grain inlays and soft, double-stitched leather. Adding interest are a Tiffany-style analog clock and aqua blue instrumentation. With such roomy accommodations, most will probably overlook a few lower-quality trim choices and some minor, overly complicated controls. Access to the third row is excellent, with second-row seats that tilt and slide out of the way, and there are a useful 19 cubic feet of space behind the upright third-row seat.
In our reviews, we've found the Buick Enclave's V6 provides more than ample power, along with a mildly sporty exhaust note. The six-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, but it's programmed to maximize fuel economy so downshifts are sometimes a bit delayed. To compensate, there's a manual shift button on the shift lever. The Enclave is quiet and smooth-riding on the highway as expected, though some buyers may find the CXL model's ride a bit too firm due to its 19-inch wheels. Overall handling is competent and predictable, though not necessarily the equal of its more driver-oriented rivals.
The Buick Enclave can be purchased at your Local Miami GM Dealership. For more information contact Brickell GM at 786-245-4889 or visit them onine at http://www.brickellgmc.com

The Award for the Most Innovative Crossover Goes to the Buick Enclave in Miami
This was the original Motor Trend review of the Buick Enclave when it was first introduced as a 2008 model. As you will see, Enclave brought something new and unique to the car market then, and is still just as revelatory now.
Big things are about to start happening at Buick. We've all heard those words before, and they sounded like a load of marketing hooey at the launches of Buick's me-too truck, minivan, and midsize sedan. Our eyes rolled a little less when we heard the same pitch at the Lucerne launch, though even that car was built on hand-me-down platform architecture. The crossover 'ute pictured here will be the first Buick built on a new platform designed from the ground up to achieve the division's new goal: Get the under-60 set to U-turn out of the Lexus dealer's driveway and into the one bearing the tri-shield. But Buick didn't get exclusive dibs on the new Lambda architecture, so can we trust GM to really differentiate the new Enclave from its Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia siblings?
The answer is yes, providing 90 percent of what you see in this Detroit-show-starring driveable concept car survives to production, as all company reps insist. To begin with, the three vehicles look nothing alike. The Saturn has a vaguely Asian aspect to it, smoothly flanked with prominent fender flares and an oversize Sky-style grille, and the GMC will appear way more rugged and trucklike. Exterior designer Ariel Choi says the Enclave is sculpted "to remind one of a beautiful golf course--nothing flat or level, yet conservative." Yeah, okay, Buick needs all the mileage it can get out of its investment in Tiger Woods. Many details are reinterpreted from the striking Velite convertible concept, like the portholes on the hood, chrome flourishes all around the car, and the oval-shaped black-chrome waterfall grille that appears to cascade from the plane of the hood down toward the bumper. Choi admits seeking influence outside the studio, often from architecture, and he credits the success of the final shape (what you see is what you'll get, except on smaller 18 to 20-inch wheels and with a dual sunroof in place of the full-length bronzed-glass roof) to a team of mostly under-30 designers and gifted clay sculptors.
The Rendezvous minivan-cum-'ute that the Enclave will ultimately supplant was designed in a dedicated Buick studio, while these three crossover triplets were penned in the Lambda architecture studio, so that all the designers could see the direction each brand was heading and ensure there were no inadvertent similarities.
Buick's Lambdan is by far the most curvaceous and carlike, and it wears the dressiest jewelry, starting with the headlamps. The main high-intensity-discharge projector lenses are ringed in blue, and the barrels for the inner high-beam projectors seem to have faceted sapphires stuck to them. Add to these the wide chrome rings around the side glass and the taillamps, plus chrome wheels and door handles, and the message is clear: This ain't no Chevontiac or Toyonda. Perhaps Choi's greatest stylistic triumph was shrinking the visual mass of what is in fact a big honkin' 'ute (it's as long and wide as a Chevy Tahoe, but six inches lower). A big bod is needed to comfortably carry eight people, which all three Lambda 'utes will do, when configured with 60/40 split-folding bench seats in the two back rows. With one hand, the middle-row seat's bottom cushion flips up as the whole seatback rolls forward to provide a wide path into the rear seat. It can then be positioned anywhere along the track to apportion legroom and cargo space as needed. Buick claims the third row will boast best-in-class space among the crossovers. The concept car features the optional captain's chairs, though the elaborate rear center consoles and wooden tray tables aren't likely to reach production. Most of the rest of the interior design should survive to the showroom, including the copious wood-tone trim on the dash and door panels and the brushed-aluminum accent rings and strips.
Keep your fingers crossed for the light-up door-sill plates, though they're a long shot too. Interior design director Michael Burton says his team was aiming for a private-jet ambiance (hence the four separate DVD players and screens, including one that doubles as the front-passenger vanity mirror--none of which will see production as shown). The form language evokes a time when Buicks were highly expressive and aspirational, and blends vaguely art-deco semi-circular elements with high-tech execution (like electroluminescent lighting). The overall effect is dramatic, sumptuous, and considerably more appealing than any Buick in recent memory. The Lambda crossovers were conceived to provide the passenger and cargo space Americans want (either 148 cubic feet of people room or 117 cubes for cargo with all the seats down) in a lighter, more fuel-efficient package. Toward that end, they'll all launch with a 3.6-liter DOHC V-6, expected to make 270 horsepower in the Buick. Teamed with a new six-speed automatic and front- or on-demand all-wheel drive, the Saturn is already rated at 24-25 mpg on the highway--two to four mpg better than a Tahoe with the cylinder-deactivating V-8 engine. Hence no V-8 will be available at launch, though a small-block would likely fit. A brief drive in the concept car revealed nothing useful about ride, handling, or performance, but gave an accurate feel for the package.
Visibility in all directions is excellent from the front and middle row seats, though the driver doesn't get much of a look at the hood, which may make it hard to judge when parking in tight quarters. Ride height is also just about right--up far enough to see through or over most traffic, down low enough for most adults to slide easily into the seat. Buick is also sure to apply its full arsenal of sound-deadening gear to the Enclave, in pursuit of a Lexus-like library-quiet ambience. With a little luck, that plus the Enclave's sumptuous accommodations and sleek style will be sufficient to lure the neo-AARPers Buick covets.

Soccer Practice in Miami Calls for the Buick Enclave
When driving your kids to Soccer practice, it is important to travel in a large sturdy car through these rough Miami streets. Parents who get stuck with chauffeuring duties will love the Enclave's generous passenger capacity. This allows for Mom and Dad to enjoy the Miami scenery peacefully while their kids make a raucous in the back seat. Seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations are available; second-row twin captains' chairs are standard, but a bench seat is available for those who need to accommodate the maximum amount of players. There's a roomy third row (a 60/40-split fold-flat third-row seat is standard) that manages to seat adults in comfort. And there's lots of room for all that team gear, since at 116 cubic feet, this Buick's maximum cargo capacity exceeds that of many old-school truck-based SUVs. In keeping with its mandate of luxury, the Enclave feels smooth and plush on the road, serenely managing Miami’s uneven surfaces without ever feeling too disconnected from the pavement and cruising down the Miami road with the heavyweight assuredness of a freight train.
In many respects, this Buick measures up favorably with the crossovers made by established luxury automakers such as Acura, BMW, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz. For pricing information, visit our local Miami Brickell Motors dealership. http://www.brickellgmc.com/

Bigger is Better with GMC's Yukon in Miami
GMC's Yukon proves bigger is better, sometimes
From Summit Daily News
With a level of largesse that seems straight out of a Presidential entourage, the mighty GMC Yukon went through a substantial refresh a few years back. I actually attended the launch event in early 2006, heading off on a strange ride and drive through the wilds of northeastern Georgia, but having spent much of that year in a slightly altered state, I was left with some fairly dim impressions.
Three years later, straight as an arrow, I stepped back behind the gigantic wheel of the Yukon and I realized that it's a pretty impressive machine, as far as large, imposing SUVs go. The standard Yukon, outfitted with 4WD and a 320-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8, will do all the things an SUV is supposed to do: Tow up to 8,400 pounds of trailer, haul you and as many as eight passengers around and return a solid 20 mpg highway, maybe 14 in the city. Those final figures started catching up with GM during last year's fuel fiasco, and this year has seen the release of a hybrid version of the Yukon, which, oddly, substitutes a larger engine (a 6.0 liter Vortec) and a matching electric motor system to double the city mileage (21 city, 22 hwy.) and produce a little more power and torque (332 HP, 367 lb.-ft.).I didn't get to play with the Yukon hybrid setup this go-round, although I did spend a week in the hybrid GMC Sierra not soon afterwards, and can attest that the company's new two-mode gas-electric system is much more livable and less herky-jerky than in the past. Not a Prius, by any means — there's still a building-sized piece of people-hauling metal to move around — but General Motors' award-winning hybrid configuration is a nice idea, especially when you do the math on the total mileage increase. Well, maybe.
As for the old-fashioned (but admittedly flex fuel-capable) Yukon, feeling large and in charge is both a good and a bad thing. Hit the remote starter, clamber up into the cabin and … almost instantaneously, you find yourself swaggering like Kid Rock and driving like a distracted Highlands Ranch soccer mom. Look out, everyone.
It seems impossible to commandeer a Yukon in a subtle fashion; maybe its birth in a GM assembly plant in Arlington, Texas has something to do with that. But to the big machine's credit, it absolutely and completely effortlessly got me through the final day of snow back in the spring here in the Front Range, absolutely secure in 4WD despite the impressive mass of the machine.
And even in “base” Yukon guise (the Yukon Denali bumps things up to near-Escalade interior finery), it's a comfortable, leathery-cabined experience that includes a substantially powerful Bose stereo system, ferocious three-zone heating and cooling and just a bit too much fake wood trim and plastic for 50 large.
GM's six-speed automatic transmission with an adjustable sequential switch on the lever imparts more control in harnessing the power; the slightly thin steering wheel is festooned with an ungainly array of buttons. Second-row seats rather loudly and powerfully flop and crash forward to gain access to a full and comfortable third row of seating, while a touchpad activates the power rear liftgate. Looks are equally big and brassy, from the huge, chrome-clad wheels to the gigantic, chrome-rimmed grille and the washbasin-sized headlamps.

The 2010 GMC Sierra Goes Green in Miami
From motor trend

The 2009 GMC Acadia Proves to Be Tough Enough for South Florida
For years, building tough trucks for tough work has been the focus of GMC, General Motors' truck division. The design of the 2009 GMC Acadia seemed to accomplish General Motor’s initiative of creating tough vehicles. The all-new Acadia is a large crossover (or crossover utility vehicle, or CUV). Mechanically, it's very similar to the Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave. Thanks to its spacious interior, strong V6 engine and competitive price, the Acadia is one of the better crossover SUV choices. The Acadia is built to survive in the rough streets of Miami.
The GMC Acadia is one of the roomiest crossover utility vehicles in its class, with seating for up to eight passengers. This is perfect for the typical large family household in Miami. Driving your kids to and from school or to practice in Miami can become quite the hassle, but with the roomy Acadia, your kids can enjoy the ride safely and comfortably. The second-row seats are captain's chairs, but a 60/40-split-folding bench is available as an option. The second-row seats also slide 4 inches fore and aft and easily flip up and out of the way for access to the third-row seats. And there's room for adults in the back two rows, though leg support is a bit lacking. Behind the third row, there is a respectable amount of luggage room.

The Most Practical Crossover on South Miami streets is the GMC Acadia
The GMC Acadia is perhaps Miami’s most underappreciated crossover vehicle. Not many people know about the features and power of the Acadia, and not enough people have gotten behind the wheel themselves and taken it for a spin (How do we know? If everybody in Miami test drove the Acadia, Miami would be a much happier place!) Here is some more information on this driving machine:

Review the 2009 GMC Acadia and Decide if its the Miami PickUp for You
2009 GMC Acadia Vehicle Overview
from Edmunds.com
Introduction
As high fuel prices have prompted folks to be more realistic about their vehicle purchases, the sales of large truck-based SUVs have dropped while those of more space- and fuel-efficient crossovers, such as the 2009 GMC Acadia, have risen. Crazy as it sounds, Americans are finally realizing that perhaps they don't need something that can pull a house and handle the Rubicon trail. For the more common tasks of shuttling the kids around, hauling 48-count toilet paper boxes from Costco and negotiating winter driving conditions, the Acadia is just about perfect. Along with its corporate cousins, the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and Saturn Outlook, the GMC Acadia has a unibody architecture (as opposed to heavier body-on-frame) which allows better handling, interior packaging and crashworthiness. The Acadia also has a powerful V6 engine and can be had in either front- or all-wheel-drive versions.
What makes the Acadia especially attractive is its optimal use of space. Yes, it's large, about the same size as a Yukon, but it provides a more accommodating third-row seat along with a serious amount of cargo space. And yet, in spite of the Acadia's generous proportions and the fact that it gets a more powerful (288 horsepower) engine this year, this big SUV (in front-drive form) posts respectable fuel mileage figures of 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined. All things considered, the 2009 GMC Acadia is an easy family vehicle for us to recommend. Thanks to its well-rounded nature and handsome design, it has been the best-selling model of the GM cousins thus far. (The Traverse debuts this year.) Still, there are a few other large crossovers that may warrant your attention, such as the sporty Mazda CX-9 and redesigned Toyota Highlander.
Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
A full-size crossover SUV, the 2009 GMC Acadia is offered in three trims: base SLE-1 and uplevel SLT-1 and SLT-2. The SLE comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, eight-passenger seating, front and rear air-conditioning, full power accessories, cruise control, OnStar telematics and a six-speaker CD/MP3 stereo system with satellite radio. The SLT-1 package adds heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, leather seating with heated power front seats, second-row captain's chairs, triple-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity and a Bose 10-speaker audio system with steering-wheel-mounted audio controls and a six-disc CD changer. The line-topping SLT-2 adds remote vehicle start, rear park assist, a power rear liftgate, power lumbar supports for the front seats, a 115-volt power outlet and a rear cargo shade.
Both SLT models can also be had with eight-passenger seating, and many of the SLT-2's features are available on lesser models, too. Option highlights, available individually or through packages, include a DVD entertainment system, cooled seats, real-time traffic reporting, remote vehicle start, a rearview camera, a second-row console, a two-panel sunroof, 19-inch wheels, a head-up windshield instrument display, a navigation system, Dolby 5.1 surround sound and third-row audio controls.
Powertrains and Performance
The 2009 GMC Acadia can be had with either front-wheel drive or AWD. This year brings a new 3.6-liter V6 with direct injection that makes 288 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque, spread over a broad rpm range. It's matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. Though GMC has built its image around tough trucks, the AWD version of the Acadia is geared more for foul-weather driving than boulder-bashing. The system automatically varies the torque split from 90 percent front/10 percent rear to 35/65, respectively, as available traction dictates. The front-drive 2009 Acadia has an EPA fuel economy estimate of 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined. The AWD version rates just one mpg less. The Acadia's towing capacity, at 4,500 pounds when properly equipped, should be enough for most folks.
Safety
Standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and the OnStar communications system. In government crash tests, the Acadia was all aces, scoring five stars (out of five) in all frontal- and side-impact tests.
Interior Design and Special Features
The attractive cabin boasts logical controls and mostly solid materials and build quality, though a few lower-grade plastic pieces can still be found. Thanks to its space-efficient design, the GMC Acadia provides large-sedan-like comfort for all passengers. A third-row seat is standard, and one may choose between seven- and eight-passenger configurations. The 60/40-split second-row bench allows eight to ride, while opting for the captain's chairs reduces capacity to seven. Additionally, access to that third row is eased by wide rear doors and a sliding second-row seat. Although taller folks in the way back may wish for more thigh support, the accommodations back there are much better than those of most crossovers or traditional SUVs. Cargo capacity is abundant, with nearly 117 cubic feet available with all seats down, and a still-very-respectable 24 cubic feet behind the third-row seat if all are raised.
Driving Impressions
While the 2009 GMC Acadia isn't exactly an overgrown sport sedan, it's easy and pleasant to drive, especially considering the vehicle's size and 4,700-pound curb weight. Those planning on towing a trailer will want to consider the SLT versions, which feature variable-effort power steering to make quick work of maneuvering.
On the open road, we've found that the optional 19-inch wheels increase the crossover's bling factor, but they also compromise the Acadia's otherwise comfortable ride quality, turning it into a somewhat jarring experience that many target buyers won't enjoy. Our only other complaint regards the programming of the six-speed automatic, whose downshifts can be a bit lethargic unless prodded by a sharp boot to the gas.
